My name is Sara. I was born and raised in a small town in Rhode Island (for which my blog is named). I went to my state school URI (go Rams!) and graduated with a degree in Nursing in May of 2008. I got engaged to my high school sweetheart in April before graduation and I moved to San Diego to be with him that summer. I was hired to my first nursing position on a Med Surge Floor that August and stayed on that unit for a year. In September 2009 I transferred to the Emergency Room at the same hospital, and I am currently enjoying my time there learning and growing as a RN. I love to cook, and I consider myself pretty crafty.
My Family
I have been blessed with a wonderful supportive family. My father owns his own piano tuning business and my mother is a nurse (too!). My brother is 17 and is going to graduate from high school in June 2010. Even though I am separated from my family by thousands of miles I talk to them often (it is very uncommon that we go more than two days without talking).
My Love
My Husband Kyle & I were married on January 24th 2009 at my hometown church in Rhode Island. We have been together since high school (and were friends before that). We have literally grown up together, and our love grew and changed as we became adults. I thank God every day that I was so lucky to have met him so early in my life. We have spent much of our relationship separated; we went to separate colleges and now he is Active Duty Navy. Even though the time apart is very difficult I push though it because I know that our relationship is the stuff of lasting love.
