Next weekend Kyle and I have the weekend off, both of us, at the same time. No but wait, we have the time off and we don't have any plans or meetings or house hunts to go on.
Seriously, this is freaking MONUMENTAL! We never have two days off in a row together, usually I'm working or he's on duty, something always comes up. So last night I was talking with him and I made the suggestion of a mini "staycation." When you stay near home and check out your place as a tourist. I'm thinking about heading up to La Jolla for a kayak tour.
Anybody ever do a "staycation?" Any recommendations?

Into the weekend (or lack there-of)
I have decided to really start blogging more often to get back into the habit of it. Even if I don't have something "worth posting" I want to keep posting, I'm thinking that if the quantity of my posts increase, the actual quality of the posts will improve. Does that make sense? Anyway I digress
Unfortunately I have to work all this weekend (buh) but such is the life of a Nurse. Work today wasn't too bad so I'm hoping that today was a preview of the weekend to come (oh please oh please oh please)
Last night Kyle and I saw Despicable Me which was actually really cute. I didn't have high expectations but I was pleasantly surprised, very cute!
Lately I have been diving into my photography head first and I am loving every minute of going out and shooting. Last month I went to a Local Photography group get together which was SUPER NERDY and SUPER AWESOME!!!. It was kind of like Photographers Anonymous ("Hi my name is Sara and I shoot Canon" "Hi Sara!") We talked a little about meet-ups around the city for the next month then had a presentation about color correction in Photoshop. I have already used the techniques I learned this week during my homework for my photography class. Definitely a meeting I will try and get to next month. Almost daily they stuff my inbox with different events happening around town; tonight they had a free model shoot (people model for you and you send them some proofs in exchange for their time). Definitely something I will take advantage of soon!
I have also discovered a new obsession, and it's name is iMac....

oh my gosh... ::dies from happiness::
I have been asking Kyle if I can get a new laptop when my ancient iBook G4 (which I am using right now by the way) finally croaks and he (of course) was fine with it. Last week I was perusing the apple website and realized that I could get this huge iMac; fully loaded mind you, for about $800 less than the macbook pro I originally was planning on getting. And so began my new fixation on the iMac.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Don't think about poor sad Sara who will be at work while you are all out having fun :*-( Ha!

Updates!
Hullo!
So LOTS-o-Stuff has been happening since I last posted, sheesh it feels like months ago. Those weeks of traveling really threw off my routine. As is true Little Rhody Girl fashion I haven't really had time to slow down since then...
ok here are some quick recaps of what's been going on in my life.
1) We are officially House Hunting (and have been for some time now) - For the last month Kyle and I have been working with a realtor to find a townhouse or condo in the area. (Since it's San Diego county any chance of getting a "house house" with a yard is pretty much impossible without around $400 grand, buh). We have actually found a place and have put in an offer, but apparently we are second in line. If the first offer is accepted, we're bum out of luck. I've learned a lot about real-estate over the last month (about just enough to not want to EVER seek out real estate endeavors just for "fun")
2) Jobs... - I'm still at my ER job, and it's turning into quite the Love/Hate relationship. Some days are o.k., and others are so absolutely bad that I have to literally crawl home at the end of the shift. It's quite the conundrum. I like the speciality, I like my co-workers, I like working days. On the other hand there is a part of me that thirsts for something different. I still haven't given up on the Labor and Delivery route and I have been keeping an eye out on the Internet to see if I spy any postings but I feel very half-assed about applying because ALL of them are night shift positions. We'll see what happens
3) Photography - I have been making pretty far strides in my photography. I am two classes into my better photo certification and I have launched a website and a fanpage. (Everybody please proceed to my fanbadge and check out my website). My master plan is to keep practicing and taking classes over the next few years so I can ease off the nursing and go into portrait/wedding photography to make some $$ while I am home with my babies! (when I have them haha).
4) Running (or lack there of) - The constant travel put a HUGE wrench into my running. Before I left I was running 2-3 miles 4-5 times a week no-problemo and now I barely have the energy to get up and get my sneaks on. Anybody have any advise for getting back into it?
5) Travel - Since I have been traveling WAY too much over the last few month I have no plans to go anywhere anytime soon..however.. (drum roll please) I'm taking my first in-law family vacation this winter. to....DISNEY WORLD!!!!! ::super excited:: I don't know what I am more excited about, the family time, going there FINALLY with my husband, or the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (I think Hogwarts wins)
So..that's the abridged version, and there you have it
p.s. To all of my girls out there who are pregnant, congrats!! I have been following everybody, even though my commenting has been severely lacking. I am soo happy to get glimpses into your journeys into becomming mothers and I can't wait to see pics of all the little ones. Prayers and blessing for a healthy and happy pregnancy for all of you!

I even wrote them down!
I feel like I have spent the last several months apologizing to you ladies about not being around, and the month of June proved not to be much of an improvement. I spent most of June around planes, (on them, in airports near them, driving back to airports to pick up people who were delayed on them etc..). I went across the country and back, then flew to the Midwest and back. Today was the second day off I had in the last three and a half weeks that I was actually in San Diego. In truth it's been quite an exciting (exhausting) month. So I'm going to try my absolute damnedest to back post, every SINGLE thing that has been happening to me so I can start up fresh. Anyone feel a huge weight on them when you have things on your To-Do list that aren't done? I surely do
Sorry for being a constant transient blogger

In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed;
it must be achieved.
